DESCRIPTION AND COMPOSITION
Le Mans 24 Hours Comic Strip 1964-1967
In 1963, Ford, the iconic American manufacturer, sought to change its image and attract a new type of younger, more dynamic customer. The decision was therefore made to enter motor racing, where European manufacturers had earned their stripes, and to challenge Ferrari on its home turf at Le Mans! For the 1964 edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours, the best engineers worked on an unprecedented model: the GT 40. Fast but unreliable, the Fords unfortunately quickly left the field open to the formidable Ferrari 275P.
But the Americans hadn't said their last word and would return in subsequent years! Thus, from 1964 to 1967, the two manufacturers continually challenged each other, and their duel offered the Le Mans race one of its most legendary eras!
