Since the dawn of the automobile, the 24 Hours of Le Mans has been the most admired and respected race in the world. Now a hundred years old, the Sarthe event duly celebrated its century. The highlight of these celebrations was The Grand Exhibition of the Centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which brought together in the museum the majority of the cars that won the event. A breathtaking spectacle, coupled with immense historical value, featuring eighty-one cars: Alfa Romeo, Audi, Bentley, Matra, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Toyota, and of course Ferrari. This book is a tribute to this exhibition, to this century of motor racing, successes, achievements, and records. Eighty-one cars are highlighted, with the common thread being the history of the exhibition, its organization, its logistics, and its apotheosis during the parades.
