At the start of the race, the Audis were dominated by the two Toyotas, an unexpected fact given the number of victories the team had recorded in recent years. After a number of incidents and two hours into the race, the Toyotas downshifted, but the N°7 Toyota continued to dominate the race, ahead of the N°2 Audi and the N°20 Porsche, before retiring due to an electrical cable problem after leading for almost 14 hours.
