Comic book 24H du Mans 1972-1974
24H du Mans 1964. Only one of 5 René Bonnet cars finished the race, a long way behind the winning Ferrari. One year later, René Bonnet was bought by Matra, an arms company wanting to use motor racing to sell mass-produced cars. Despite several failed attempts, Matra was soon counted amongst the greats thanks to their passionate and energetic engineers. But the French team didn’t bring home its first title until 1972 when they had three cars in the lead!
And thus began a fabulous series of three consecutive victories and a new conquest for French motor racing with a new generation of great drivers: Beltoise, Cevert, Larrousse, Jabouille... and Henri Pescarolo.
