An anniversary edition celebrating a legendary victory!
In 1963, Ford, the iconic American automaker, sought to revamp its image and attract a new, younger, and more dynamic customer base. The decision was therefore made to enter the world of auto racing—a field where European automakers had earned their reputation—and to challenge Ferrari on its home turf at Le Mans! For the 1964 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the best engineers set to work on a brand-new model: the GT 40. Fast but unreliable, the Fords unfortunately quickly gave way to the formidable Ferrari 275Ps. But the Americans weren’t done yet and would return in the following years! Thus, from 1964 to 1967, the two manufacturers would relentlessly challenge one another, and their rivalry would give the Le Mans race one of its most legendary eras!
To mark the anniversary of Ford’s 1966 victory, rediscover this iconic story in a collector’s edition featuring a new cover and an 8-page insert spotlighting Ken Miles and Carroll Shelby.
